Transfer Student Checklist
- Activate Your GW Email Address and NetID. Your NetID (the first part of your GW email address) is used for many online services including signing up for Colonial Inauguration and registering for classes. Once you activate your GW email address, be sure to check your account frequently for university messages.
- Review Transfer Credit. If you are currently enrolled in classes please have your final transcript sent to the Office of Admissions once it becomes available. GW school specific regulations on transfer credit can be obtained from the University Bulletin or contact the appropriate Dean's office.
- Contact Your Advisor. Once you reviewed your transfer credit information, you may contact an advisor in your School to determine how this credit will fit into your GW academic plan.
- Review Financial Information.
- Visit onlyatgw.com. Create your own GW experience and connect with us on Facebook and Twitter.
- Apply Online for Housing. Freshmen and sophomores are required to live in university housing.
- Register for Colonial Inauguration, (CI) GW's orientation program.
- Attend Colonial Inauguration. At CI you will meet with academic advisors, current students, and other members of the GW community to learn everything you’ll need to know about GW!
- Register for Classes once you have reviewed courses with an advisor.
- Submit your Immunization Form. Completed forms should be mailed to GW's Student Health Services.
- Start Packing! Transfer Move-In will be here before you know it!
